Many tea drinkers now are aware that loose teas are of better quality than teabags. Brewing loose leaf tea, however seems to be an issue as it requires more than just a mug. Although the Chinese enjoy selecting their ideal teapots to brew their favourite teas, a convenient all-in-one tea infuser has appeared on the market during last decade, with its focus being on its ease of use.
These tea infusers are generally divided into two chambers, the upper chamber for brewing the tea and the lower chamber for the infused tea to drain into. The advantages of these infusers include:
- Avoidance of tea stewing. As soon as the tea is brewed, it is drained. This avoids the problems the coffee plunger-style pot experiences, where the tea leaves soak in the liquid until all the tea is consumed.
- The lower chamber can be used as a teapot to serve, or a cup from which to drink which makes the smaller versions handy for use in the office.
