This is a premium Pu-erh raw cake made of leaves harvested from the ancient tea trees in the Yi-Wu area, manufactured by Tong-Xing brand.
Pu-erh tea has been know historically as having six governing mountain ranges and four major tea houses/brands. Tong-Xing tea house being one of them. It first appeared in the Yi-Wu village in 1733. It has gone through many ups and downs, name modified a couple of times, almost completely inundated after world war II, yet has been resurrected by the family decedents during the recent decades.
This limited collection of Pu-erh a premium grade raw cakes were produced in 2006 using tea leaves harvested from the ancient tea trees of the Yi-Wu area. The Yi-Wu teas are known to be: brew clear, bright and light yellow in colour; fruity aroma; flavour soft, mellowing and long lasting. The cakes have been fermenting naturally for 10 years, yielding premium aged Pu-erh teas unique natural fragrance. As seen in the image, the colour of the original fresh green raw tea has already turned into deep rich brown. It is a premium raw tea sufficiently aged, ready to be consumed or collected to age further.
